I Didn’t Set Out to Become a Photographer. I Became One Because I Wanted to Remember.

I’m Nicole,

The Heart Behind the Lens

I bought my first camera while pregnant with my son, Tommy. At the time, there was no business plan or grand professional ambition; there was simply a deep, visceral pull to preserve the fleeting moments I already felt slipping through my fingers. Motherhood cracked me open in the best way possible. Suddenly, the ordinary felt sacred. The quiet mornings, the loud chaos, and the tenderness woven through the mundane became my favorite subjects. Photography became my way of holding onto what mattered most. It started as a hobby for my own family, but it quickly transformed into a passion, and then into a career that allows me to do the same for others.

Motherhood changed how I saw everything

Staying home with my children—who are now one and two years old—is one of the greatest joys of my life. It’s also the primary reason I photograph families the way I do: with patience, presence, and an understanding that real life doesn’t pause for a camera.

When you spend your days with toddlers, you learn that the best moments aren't the ones you forced or posed; they are the ones that happened while you were just living. I don’t expect perfection from your children (or you!). I expect movement, emotion, connection, and unpredictability—because that’s where the truth lives. My sessions are intentionally unrushed and child-led. Whether we are in my studio or on a beach, it’s your world, and I’m just there to document it. You don’t need to perform here. You just need to be.

Connection & Unpredicability

A Perspective Rooted in Care: My Life as a NICU Nurse

Alongside my work as a photographer, I am a NICU nurse. This role has deeply shaped how I show up for every family I meet. Supporting parents through some of the most vulnerable and high-stakes moments of their lives has taught me to slow down, listen closely, and approach every situation with empathy.

In the NICU, you realize that every breath and every milestone is a miracle. That same awareness carries into my photography. I notice the quiet moments—the protective way a father holds a newborn, the way a mother breathes in the scent of her child’s hair. I photograph families with the understanding that every season holds meaning, even the heavy or uncertain ones.

Earthy tones

Finding Beauty in the Mood and the Earthy Tones

My signature style has always leaned toward the moody and emotive—even back when I was choosing a wedding photographer for my own big day. I’ve always been drawn to earthy tones, warm skin, and organic textures. I favor depth and shadows over "bright and airy" because I want my work to carry weight. I want my photos to feel like a memory you can step back into—full of the warmth and mood of that specific moment in time.

Life outside the lens

When I'm not behind the camera or at the hospital, I’m usually chasing my two littles. Most days, our goal is simple: get out of the house for one adventure, even if it’s just a nature walk to look at the trees. I’m also a big believer in movement for the soul. I love to work out, and I’ve set a big personal goal for 2026: completing an Olympic-distance triathlon. I think that drive and discipline keep me grounded, allowing me to show up as my best self for my family and my clients.

Why this work matters

Photographs are more than just digital files on a hard drive.

They’re a way back.

Back to how your child fit in the crook of your arm.

Back to the way your family felt in this exact, fleeting season.

Back to the moments you didn’t realize you’d miss so deeply.

My goal is to create photographs that feel honest and timeless—images that hold emotional weight and grow more meaningful with every passing year.

If This Resonates, You’re in the Right Place

If you’re drawn to warmth over perfection, connection over posing, and photographs that feel lived-in and real—I’d be honored to work with you. This isn't about a gallery of "perfect" smiles; it’s about preserving your story, exactly as it is.
